5 Habits of Successful Bloggers
Success is rarely by accident. Successful business owners, entrepreneurs, people paving their own way - they all reach their goals and achieve success by being consistent and dedicated even when motivation wavers. In short, they succeed due to their habits.
Successful people, quite simply, are people with successful habits.
Successful blogging is no different. I've been in the industry for 9 years and have worked on 6 of my own blogs and website AND I've helped many others start up their own blogs. I think it's safe of me to say I have a lot of experience! I've seen a lot of consistent patterns between all the blogs I've worked on and it's become undeniable to me that there are specific habits that lead to blogging success.
Here are 5 habits I've without fail seen in bloggers that succeed:

1. Laser-sharp focus
This is a key quality you will find in not just successful bloggers, but successful entrepreneurs too.
The ability to zoom in, hyper-focus and really dedicate themselves to creating that ✨ magic* ✨
Successful bloggers know what to focus on, how to get from A to B and what they need to do without getting distracted.
They're not scattered between a hundred different strategies, platforms and ideas.
They know their goal, they know what to do and they have razor-like precision in executing it.
(*It's not actually magic, it's actually really honing in on excellent research skills, SEO, applying best writing practices, creating a comprehensive post - it's a skill set, not actual fairy dust. But the skill set DOES create magic)
2. They're in it for the long run
Any successful business knows that a solid, longstanding foundation takes time to build. Blogging is no different.
Hundreds of thousands of blogs are started every year, but not all of the grow into a fruitful, profitable business.
One of the big reasons so many never get beyond the initial stages is because they don't invest the time to learn about how to make the magic, AND they don't wait for the magic to start happening. They want to start making money and getting traffic YESTERDAY.
All good things take time. As the quote goes, 'to lose patience is to lose the battle'.
Blogging is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme. it's a journey that has SO much potential to reward you well if you stick around long enough to learn the trade, craft a bank of insightful and helpful content and build a loyal readership.
There's a direct correlation between the age of a blog and it's earnings. You have to allow your blog the time it needs to get off the ground without giving up.

3. They prioritise their learning
I am completely and utterly OBSESSED with this.
Books.
Podcasts.
Workshops.
Reading other blogs.
I am a literal education addict. And I'm not complaining.
The online world is constantly evolving, shaped by SO many factors that are all rapidly advancing. It's such an exciting time to have a presence on the online world - but the key is you have to stay in the loop and be ready to always be working on yourself, perfecting your approach.
Spending time educating yourself will give you a huge advantage - this is the advantage that successful bloggers have over rookies or those who try to grow their blog into a business but fall short.
4. They don't compromise on the quality of their work
If you've ever spent some time in blogger circles or reading about blogging, you may have come across the following quote:
Content is KING.
And it's a universal truth. Your content will always be the most important element of your blog and it's paramount that your quality is consistently high.
Good quality content will:
- rank you higher on Google
- lead to a satisfied blog visitor
- make readers want to keep coming back to you, because they KNOW your content answers their questions and provides value
- build your image as a trustworthy, knowledgeable and authoritative figure in your niche
- lead to a greater proportion of readers wanting to connect with you on other platforms such as on social media and email.
There are loads of gimmicky or outright disintegrous ways you can lead readers onto your blog. But if the quality just isn't there... they won't stick around. And they won't come back. And the worst potential situation? They may tell others your blog is annoying, gives no value or the information you shared wasn't good.
Low quality content doesn't really work, but if somehow you do manage to lure readers into coming, it WILL come back to bite you.

5. They understand the power of Google
Google is THE MOST POWERFUL SOURCE OF TRAFFIC, period.
Social media has GREAT traffic-driving potential too. But you want to know my issue is with it?
The moment you step off social media, it takes very little time to be forgotten.
Google is evergreen. Once you're ranking on Google, you can step away from your blog and you'll still drive traffic. The best bloggers will understand this, leverage it and prioritise it above social media.
Notice how there isn't a single mention of being tech-savvy, writing for hours every day or having to purchase the next best gizmo? That's because you do not need those things to have a successful, profitable and fulfilling blog!
I hope you found this post useful! If you did, I'd love to hear from you!
With love, Fatima x
